In Stronghold Crusader 2 (which featured 35 official maps at launch and significantly more now), the community experienced a revival when steam workshop integration was added a couple of months after release, with the community creating hundreds of maps, included classics like Minas Tirith from The Lord of the Rings. In the recent Grey Goo, player made maps played a huge role in the sustained longevity of the game, as there were only about 8 maps included at launch. Whilst I'm sure that the included maps by Eugen will be excellent, I must really emphasise the potential for community growth and game longevity of including an in game map editor and integrating it with the Steam workshop. It's been confirmed that there is no planned map editor for Act of Aggression.
